I W8 Abstinence Education Statement of Principle

  1. I W8 is a sex education program dedicated to teaching youth and single persons the benefit of saving sex for a faithful, monogamous marriage relationship.
  1. I W8 does not recommend, provide, or refer single persons for contraception.
  1. I W8 believes that marriage (defined as one male and one female) is the only acceptable context for sexual expression. I W8 instructors will uphold the standard of saving sex for marriage and will not compromise this position by teaching postponement, contraceptives, or any other lifestyle that undermines this standard.
  1. I W8 instructors will model this standard in their personal lives. Single instructors will practice abstinence, and married instructors will be faithful to their marriage partners.
  1. I W8 is committed to educating the local community to increase awareness of the abstinence message.
  1. I W8 does not discriminate in providing services because of race, creed, color, natural origin, handicap, age, or marital status.
  1. I W8 abstinence education classes may only be taught by qualified, degreed instructors.
  1. I W8 believes in the sanctity of human life and that we are created in the image of God. Therefore, we do not recommend, provide, or refer for abortion or abortifacients. While abortion is not a part of the curriculum, instructor discretion will be used in any presentation regarding this subject.
